1. Age is not important
We are not stuck in the 1950s with certain expectations of how our lives should play out according to our age. Our age is just a number. We can choose to be, do and act however we wish.
2. Prioritise yourself
No one is living your life for you. Set aside the illusion that you need to be all things to all people and put yourself first in the sense of taking care of your mental,. Physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. By doing so the benefits trickle down into everything else we do.
3. You always have time
You can always make time. It's choosing where you want to prioritise that time. If you want to use that time to watch TV, have an extra 30mins in bed or go out drinking then that is the time you are spending that you could invest in taking care of yourself. Choosing to get up earlier or to get to bed sooner, choosing to socialise by getting outdoors, choosing to improve your mental fitness through meditation, mindfulness or reading. You choose where you spend your valuable time.
4. Your circumstances do not define your dream life
Stop throwing a pitty party for yourself because things aren't as "great" as you wish they were. Educate yourself on what it is you love, to push yourself forward. With so many free resources there's no excuse. Surround yourself with people who inspire you. Remove the ones who don't.
